Why Live Wedding Painting?

Turn one of the most meaningful moments of your life into a timeless piece of fine art. As a professional artist with years of experience in oil painting, I bring your wedding to life on canvas—directly on-site and in real time.

Your guests will witness the creation of a bespoke painting that captures not only your likeness but the atmosphere, light, and emotion of your day.

Each painting is completed in the studio after the event with exquisite detail, using only the highest quality materials.

Capture your guests in a timeless, artistic way.

Live guest illustrations are a unique blend of art and memory. As your wedding unfolds, I paint minimal, elegant portraits of your guests using watercolor and acrylic – directly on-site. Q&A – Live Wedding Painting (Europe)

What is the difference between packages?

The main difference lies in the canvas size and spendet hours —which directly impacts the level of detail and atmosphere I can capture.
All packages feature high-quality, large-scale canvases suitable as a centerpiece in your home. The larger the canvas, the more detail I can include—whether it’s your surroundings, architecture, or additional people. Each work is a personal heirloom made to last for generations.

01

Do you travel?

Yes, I take on a limited number of destination weddings across Europe and am also available for international bookings.

Travel costs within Switzerland and neighboring countries typically range from CHF 0–600, depending on the location and travel time.
For weddings in other European countries, travel and accommodation are quoted transparently in advance.

For bookings outside Europe, a custom travel fee applies based on your location and event details.

02

How far in advance should we book?

Due to limited availability and the bespoke nature of each painting, I recommend booking at least 6–12 months in advance.
For weddings during peak season (May–September) or popular dates (long weekends), earlier enquiries are highly encouraged—especially if your date is already confirmed.

03

How do we book a live wedding painting?

  1. Fill out the enquiry form with your wedding date and location.

  2. If I’m available, I’ll send you a custom offer with a booking link.

  3. A 50% deposit (plus any travel fees) and a signed agreement are required to secure your date.

  4. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your wedding.

04

How does live wedding painting work? Will it fit into our wedding schedule?

Yes! Every wedding is unique, and I adapt my process to fit seamlessly into your day.

Here’s how it works:

  • I arrive 1–2 hours before the key moment you wish to capture (for example, your ceremony, a first kiss, or a romantic scene).

  • During this time, I set up discreetly and prepare the canvas.

  • At the right moment, I photograph the scene—either candidly or with a short, pre-arranged couple session.

  • While your guests celebrate, I paint live on-site for up to 7–9 hours.

  • Guests can watch, ask questions, and enjoy seeing the piece come to life.

  • After the event, I bring the painting back to my studio, where I refine and finish the piece with care.

Depending on the complexity and drying time, your finished painting will be ready in 4 to 12 weeks. In rare cases (due to layering and oil drying time), delivery may take up to 16 weeks.

05

Can we choose which moment is painted?

Absolutely. Before your wedding, we’ll have a consultation where you can share your vision. You can choose between key moments like your ceremony, a romantic couple portrait, or even a candid moment with guests. I’ll guide you through the options and help you decide what works best based on your timeline and artistic goals.

06

What if the weather changes or the timeline shifts on the day?

I always come prepared with flexibility in mind. Since I work from a mix of live painting and photographs, I can adapt to changing conditions. If something unexpected happens, I’ll discreetly gather reference images and complete the painting in the studio afterward – while preserving the live atmosphere and spontaneity of the day.

07

Can we be painted with our children, pets or family members?

Yes, absolutely! In the first package there will be additional costs, while the second and third packages include the  add-ons for including family members, pets, or even your wedding party. This can be discussed during the design consultation, where we’ll talk about layout, composition, and how to include everyone meaningfully.

08

Can we gift a live painting to someone else’s wedding?

Yes – this makes a truly unforgettable wedding gift. I offer gift vouchers for my packages that can be personalized and delivered either digitally or as a printed certificate or you can book me right away for a wedding. It’s a perfect group gift from friends or family that becomes a lifelong treasure for the couple.

09

What style do you paint in? Can we see samples of your work?

My style is modern expressive realism—a blend of lively brushstrokes, soft detail, and bold colors. I focus on capturing the atmosphere and emotion of the moment rather than photographic accuracy. You can view previous works in my portfolio, and I’m happy to share examples tailored to your venue type or desired moment.

10

Can we request changes after the painting is finished?

Small refinements can absolutely be discussed. After the studio phase is complete, I will send you a photo of the final artwork before shipping. If there are minor adjustments (like a color tweak or a small detail you’d like added), I’ll do my best to accommodate this—within the artistic integrity of the piece.

11

What happens if we don’t feel comfortable posing or don’t want a staged moment?

That’s absolutely no problem. Many of my couples prefer a natural, candid painting rather than a posed scene. I can work from authentic, unstaged moments captured discreetly during the ceremony or reception. The goal is always to reflect your energy, connection, and setting in a way that feels true to you—whether that’s romantic, joyful, serene, or vibrant. During our consultation, I’ll help you decide what’s best based on your comfort, timeline and preferences.
