The Story Behind My Art: From Childhood Passion to Live Wedding Painting

There is a quiet moment at every wedding that I always wait for.

A glance, a touch, a breath between two people who are about to begin a new chapter together. It is in these fleeting seconds that I feel most connected to my work and to why I became an artist in the first place.

But this story didn’t begin at a wedding. It began much earlier....

Where It All Started

I started painting when I was very young.

Before I even understood what “art” meant, I was already drawn to colors, textures, and the simple act of creating something with my hands. My parents quickly noticed that this wasn’t just a phase, it was something deeper. They supported me early on, making sure I always had the materials I needed to explore and develop my talent.

As a teenager, I attended a summer course at a private art school. That experience changed everything.

For the first time, I was surrounded by people who lived and breathed art. And I knew, with absolute clarity: this is what I want to do - so let's start my career as an artist

5-10 years ago

A Different Path First

And yet, my journey didn’t go directly into the art world.

I first completed my studies and worked in the corporate world, in an auditing firm. It was a valuable experience, structured, analytical, precise but something was missing. Creativity had always been my natural language, and I couldn’t ignore it.

So I made a decision that would shape my life: I applied to an art school in Basel, my city, and was accepted.

That was the moment everything shifted.

Studying Art & Finding My Voice

After my studies in Basel, I continued to deepen my craft internationally.

In Munich, at the Benad Academy, I trained as an illusion and mural artist, learning how to transform spaces and create visual worlds.

In Madrid, I studied portrait painting at the Decinti Academy, guided by my mentor Alejandro Decinti, refining my understanding of human expression and emotional depth.

Later, I expanded my technique further through courses in hyperrealistic painting with Omar Ortiz, one of the most renowned contemporary painters in this field.

Each step added a new layer, technically, creatively, and emotionally.

But more importantly, over time, I began to find something even more valuable:

my own artistic language.

From Photography to Painting Weddings

Long before I painted weddings, I was already documenting them.

For over nine years, I worked as a wedding photographer across Europe through Kuenzli Photography. Through my lens, I learned how to anticipate moments, read emotions, and tell stories as they unfold naturally.

About five years ago, I began creating wedding portraits as paintings alongside my photography work.

At first, it was something quiet, almost personal.

But the more I explored it, the more I realized:

Painting allows me to capture something photography cannot fully hold.

Not just how a moment looks, but how it feels.

The Birth of Live Wedding Painting

Live wedding painting became the natural evolution of everything I had learned.

It brings together:

• my background in fine art

• my experience in weddings

• my sensitivity to emotion and storytelling

When I paint live, I am not just creating an artwork.I am translating an atmosphere.

The movement of a dress, the softness of light, the energy in a room, all of it becomes part of the painting.

It is intuitive, immersive, and deeply personal.

Why I Feel So Connected to This Work

There is something incredibly special about painting in the presence of love.

I am there as both an observer and a participant, quietly witnessing moments that will never happen again in exactly the same way.

And that is what makes live wedding painting so powerful.

It is not about perfection. It is about presence.

Today: A Life Between Two Worlds

Today, I work across Europe as both:

• a wedding photographer

• and a live wedding artist

And I truly love the combination.

Photography allows me to capture moments instantly.Painting allows me to interpret them slowly, emotionally, and artistically.

Together, they create a complete story.
